Chickens were allowed to forage for one growing season (June-September) on plots containing substantial numbers of grasshoppers. When compared with untreated areas, plots where foraging occurred for just one season had significantly (P < 0.05) fewer grasshoppers for five years, though there was no difference in density in the sixth year. |
