A pretreated surfactant-assisted method is developed to fabricate a series of Cu-2(OH)PO4 catalysts used in the degradation of methylene blue (MB) through Fenton-like reactions. The sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) @ polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) pretreated Cu-2(OH)PO4 (S@P-Cu-2(OH)PO4) catalyst significantly enhances the catalytic activity, and 85% of MB is degraded within 4 h. The enhancement of catalytic activity is attributed to the catalyst's small size, large specific surface area, and surface ravine features. The outstanding catalytic efficiency results from the chelating action (SDBS) and dispersion effect (PVP) on copper ions. The micro-domino effect of composite surfactants decreases the size of the catalyst in the process of crystallization. |
